On Wednesday, June 11th, the Historical Society celebrated this year's winners of the Student Art Show. Family and friends of the winners , Garden City School faculty and friends of the Historical Society gathered to view all of the incredible works of art created this year along with an awards ceremony. 2024 HOWARD C. SHERWOOD AWARD
On January 25, 2025, Preservation Long Island hosted its biennial Preservation Awards ceremony at the historic Cold Spring Harbor Methodist Church, recognizing outstanding preservation efforts across the region. Among this year’s honorees was longtime and active board member Brian Pinnola, who was posthumously awarded the 2024 Howard C. Sherwood Award for his extraordinary contributions to historic preservation. The award was accepted by his friend, Maureen Soltren, in a moving tribute by architect Paul Bentel.
